S.W.O.R.D (Strategic Worldwide Operational Retaliation Division) is an organisation created by Director Nickolas J. Fury to defend and protect Earth and other planets when threats arise.
S.W.O.R.D was founded in 2550 by former military commander Nickolas Fury. It was founded on the believe that the world needs heroes and that there are threats out there that even the military couldn't handle. S.W.O.R.D's main mission is to located individuals with extordinary traits or abilities that can defend humanity (and other allied races) when needed.
S.W.O.R.D's main HQ is the Noble Eagle F2 Helicarrier, a massive air born helicarrier which acts as the main hub. Here "heroes" are able to train and S.W.O.R.D is able to located and research potential threats and prepare for them. It is lifted vertically by four colossal fans, and propelled forward by two large arrays of jet engines at its rear. It can also float in water like a conventional airefraft carrier, in this mode, the jet engines and fans are concealed underwater. It also serves as a landing and take off platform for airecrafts such as F-3 Shinden Typhoons and Quinjets.During the attack by V2 the carrier was shot down into the ocean however it was been repaired shortly after. After helping the UCR with their colony after Freyja took control of it. Nick Fury pulled some strings and managed to have the UCR build them a new HQ. The UCR built the S.W.O.R.D Space Carrier so now S.W.O.R.D and the Avengers can travel to planets more easily and help more people. The carrier is equipped with basic defense cannons and missiles and strong sheilding.
The Avengers Initiative is a plan where special individuals are hand picked by Director Nick Fury to be apart of a team to defend the earth and other planets when threasts arise. The inspiration for this team came from the Adventure Group, a team of people who became legends by defending the galaxy multiple times.
