Danno (Serial Number 10411-24258, also known as Danno-048, Danny-048, and by his self-designated moniker Danthrall) is a member of the once-prominent Adventure Group. Once a Spartan-II Supersoldier operating for the UNSC, he became involved in galactic warfare when he followed Marquis-B589 to the UCR and assisted him in various conflicts. The team, initially lead by Marq and included others, was remembered as the First Adventure Group. Eventually, Danno underwent a mutation that transformed him into a Forerunner, later undergoing additional mutation that gave him additional powers, and finally altering his outward appearance to resemble his original human form. Danno has assisted multiple military powers and factional governments, forging alliances and making enemies over the years. His closest friends remain those he met during the Adventure Group's battles, though since many of them have passed away he has gone mostly independent. This was pushed further when he finally started a family of his own, shifting a significant portion of personal responsibility to being a husband and father as well as a defender of the galaxy. However, he is still prepared to fight a war if need be. He has been charged with ensuring the Galaxy's safety against the Flood should they ever return.

Early History: The Human-Covenant War[]

Childhood and training[]

Danno was born on April 2, 2511, on the UNSC colony world Emerald Cove. Growing up, he was an average kid, going to school and having lots of fun with friends. However, at the age of six he was kidnapped by agents from the Office of Naval Intelligence to be inducted into the Spartan-II program, having been one of 75 children selected. He was replaced with a flash clone, who died sometime after the abduction; therefore, his friends and family were never aware of his true fate.

Spartan-II 01

The Spartan-II's as children

Belonging now to the Naval Special Warfare Group under watch by ONI, Danno and the other children were made into the next generation of Super Soldiers for the UNSC. Their initial goal was to help quell the ongoing Insurrection, and were trained by Chief Petty Officer Franklin Mendez. The training was tough and debilitating, the hardest training program ever performed by the UNSC at the time; despite this, the children learned and rose through the program to become fine combatants despite their young age.

Danno was a lonely child during his training, preferring to be away from others as often as possible. This did not fit well with the program, which had all the Spartans often placed all together for most of their entire training. Danno would try to find any chance he could to separate himself from the others for just a short time to be one with himself. This was due to him having lost all of his original friends, his former innocent life behind him and unable to return; therefore, he decided he was more comfortable alone. The other Spartans realized this, and tried their best to make him feel at home. In particular, John-117, who became their leader, tried to balance giving him some time alone and integrating him into teamwork and treating him like family. Soon, this rubbed off on Danno, who adjusted and grew closer to the others.

Augmentation Procedure[]

During the augmentation procedures, only 33 Spartans survived and were fit for further duty; Danno was one of the ones fortunate to not lose his life, but he was crippled and could not serve in combat. He was expected to be inducted into the Office of Naval Intelligence. However, due to Dr. Halsey's attempt to rehabilitate some of the lost Spartans, Danno was one of the first ones to recover and return to active duty with the others in just a few years.

Battle of Jericho VII[]

February 09, 2535 - February 12, 2535[]

Danno-048's first mission after his recovery was the Battle of Jericho-VII. During this operation, he was part of Spartan RED Team; during one part of the battle, his team's objective was to plant a HAVOK Tactical Nuclear weapon behind Covenant lines while BLUE team distracted the enemy's rear line, hoping to destroy the next arriving starship when it would drop its shields. Despite their success, a large Covenant battlegroup arrived, forcing all UNSC ground forces to retreat with what colonists they could and abandon the planet. Among the rest of the crew, he watched the initial Glassing attack.

Massacre at Draco III[]

January 2545[]

Danno-048 was one of the Spartans that arrived at Draco III to rescue colonists from a Covenant invasion. Finding that they came too late and that there were no human survivors, the Spartans were directed by John-117, who was enraged, to retaliate against the Covenant force and avenge the lost colonists. As Danno and the rest of the Spartans were likewise angered from the slaughter, they proceeded to carry out John-117's orders without mercy. The result of the ensuing combat ended in a tactical victory for the UNSC as the Spartans managed to wipe out all of the enemy, though it left most of the Spartans, including Danno, shaken to the core.

Battle of Sigma Octanus IV[]

July 17, 2552 - July 18, 2552[]

Danno-048 participated in the battle of Sigma Octanus IV, once again a member of RED team. The team's objective was initially to penetrate the city of Cote D'Azure, and help deploy their Tactical nuke, though their mission changed to help evacuate civilians once RED team discovered survivors in the city. Though the team managed to secure the civilians outside the city with no conflict, RED team split up in multiple small groups to avoid detection from an approaching Covenant ground force. Despite trying to remain stealthy, the team was attacked by an individual elite, which roused their presence to the ground force. The majority of RED team engaged the ground force, while one detachment fled the area with the survivors and the other detachment, including Danno, retaliated against the individual elite. The elite, who turned out to be an Arbiter, held his own against the few Spartan-IIs pitted against him, managing to wound one of them before being defeated and seemingly eliminated by their combined might. Danno helped to secure the wounded Spartan as RED team met up at their evacuation point, returning to their UNSC ship in orbit as the nuclear device went off in the city.

The Fall of Reach[]

August 29, 2552[]

On the brink of defeat, UNSC High Command concoacted Operation: RED FLAG, a mission which was intended to end the war with the Covenant quickly. The Operation detailed the use of the Spartan-IIs, the then-recently developed MJOLNIR Mk V armor system, a "Mission Specialist" later revealed to be the advanced Smart AI Cortana, the refitted Halcyon-class Light Cruiser Pillar of Autumn and the leadership of brilliant strategist Captain Jacob Keyes. This mission would have them use the Autumn to disable a significant Covenant capitol ship, board it and clear it of its crew using the Spartan-IIs, and have Cortana hack into the ship's navigation system to find the Covenant homeworld. From there, they would infiltrate the Covenant defenses, identify and capture a Covenant high leader known as a Prophet, and return to UNSC space with him. This plan was made in the hopes that the Covenant would be willing to form a truce with humanity in exchange for the Prophet, as the UNSC had few colonies left standing before the Covenant would find Earth. At this time, Danno presumed he would achieve his ultimate destiny.

However, just as the mission was starting to begin, a massive Covenant fleet appeared and attacked Reach, humanity's final fortress world before Earth, which required the Spartans to abandon Operation: RED FLAG and return to Reach aboard the Autumn. The Spartans were briefed on the situation, followed by John-117 splitting the Spartans in two teams: He and two other Spartans as BLUE team would board a station to secure a ship's navigation computer before the Covenant could use it to discover Earth, while the rest of the Spartans, including Danno, as RED Team would venture to the surface of Reach and defend the Orbital Defense Platform's power generators.

On their way to the surface, RED team's Pelican was struck by plasma fire from pursuing Seraph fighters. The Spartans bailed ship, separating in freefall and landing scattered in a small forest near the generator complexes. Danno in particular grouped with three other Spartan-IIs, eliminating a few Jackals before meeting up with the rest of RED team. RED team's leader, Frederic-104, split the Spartans in four groups; Danno was assigned to the group who were to take Warthogs to CASTLE Base to help reinforce it. On their way to CASTLE, the Spartans were assaulted by a significant Covenant ground force. They spread out to avoid plasma mortar fire, though Danno's Warthog got overturned from a close shot. The vehicle was pummeled with sniper fire from Jackals soon after, which overloaded Danno's shields permanently and prevented him from following the rest of the Spartans to CASTLE.

Luckily, a fireteam of UNSC Army soldiers were nearby, and he assisted them in ambushing the Wraiths in the ground force. He managed to hijack all four of the tanks, using one of them to destroy the remaining infantry and Ghosts. The soldiers took the other three Wraiths, following the trail back to CASTLE Base; unfortunately, close call strikes from UNSC bombers as well as Covenant artillery forced them off the path, abandoning the tanks just before they were destroyed. Nearby, some ODSTs were pinned by a downed Spirit Dropship that still had a functioning plasma turret. Danno helped in boarding it, taking out the leftover crew, and restoring its systems enough that they could use the ship to fly.

Following this, an overhead Covenant CAS-class Assault Carrier was obliterated from a nuclear detonation set off by Spartan Joshua-029. Their celebration was temporary, however, as several other Covenant starships arrived in the area and began using their energy projectors to glass the surface of Reach. Knowing at that moment that Reach was lost, Danno convinced the ODSTs and Army soldiers to try to return home with him, leading them to take their Spirit dropship to a CAR-class Frigate which was in higher orbit and near enough to dock with. Remaining concealed and undetected by Covenant forces, the team only made their move once their Frigate ceased its participation in the glassing of Reach. They got pretty close to the bridge before Covenant forces detected them; the Shipmaster decided to take the ship through a slipspace jump into another star system upon learning a Spartan was aboard his ship.

The group fought their way to the bridge, plowing through a hangar and an armory on their way which gave them access to weapons and equipment. During this ordeal, Danno's shield system rebooted and finally began working again, which was a significant deal of help once they got to the bridge. The humans fought and killed the Shipmaster's bodyguards, a pair of Hunters, though were forced out of the bridge back the way they came from the ferocity of the Shipmaster's skill and his additional security. Forced outside the Frigate, the team stole another Spirit Dropship and traveled to the surface of the planet that the ship happened upon when it exited Slipspace. Though they managed to escape, the Spirit was damaged and forced to crash-land in a canyon, stranding the humans inside.

Undisclosed Shield World[]

Early September 2552[]

The humans, comprised of Danno, two ODSTs and 3 Army Soldiers, used the Spirit Dropship as their shelter while avoiding detection from the Covenant Frigate, which remained in orbit to ensure the elimination of the Spartan. They managed to procure weapons and even a few Ghosts through guerilla strikes on ground forces, and made a raid on a Covenant outpost deployed by the Frigate. The outpost was established on a strange, ancient alien structure which turned out to be of Forerunner origin, and was well-fortified by the recently deployed Covenant ground force. Danno attempted to find a way back aboard the Frigate, but could not locate any operable aircraft. The Shipmaster used the Frigate's weapons to demolish the outpost, sacrificing all of his soldiers there to try to kill the Spartan, with Danno barely escaping with one ODST and Army soldier.

A few Banshee attack craft were sent to ensure the humans were indeed killed, though Danno used a Plasma Pistol to destroy them with overcharged shots. He ventured with the troopers to engage a ground scout party, who were investigating the alien structure recently blasted open by the Frigate. The scout party retreated inside the structure, and arriving reinforcements using Spirit Dropships diverted Danno's attention to try to capture aircraft once more, leaving the scout party to continue investigating out of curiosity for an unknown purpose.

After repelling waves of Covenant troopers, the humans were designated a more significant threat, forcing the Shipmaster to activate the Frigate's Gravity Lift to speed up the release of his ground force. Danno decided to try using the lift to get aboard instead, and after an extensive assault on the lift's defense force he and his fellow troopers finally got back on board the ship.

After venturing through a few corridors, Danno was left alone due to a sudden surprise strike from Covenant Stealth elites, who killed the ODST and Army soldier before Danno was able to save them. Stranded aboard the ship, Danno single-handedly fought his way towards the bridge once more, determined to capture the vessel this time. Unbeknownst to him, it was during this time that the scouting party accidentally released Flood forms from their containment units deep inside the damaged structure, which quickly infected the scout party and made their way towards the Frigate.

Danno confiscated several dozen plasma weapons, using them and multiple plasma grenades to burn through the locked bridge doors. Here, he finally fought off the security, and killed the Shipmaster after an extensive fist fight. Discovering the ship was in Slipspace transit, he went through trial and error before finding out it was headed for the UNSC colony of Coral. Alerted at an attack in the ship's gravity lift bay, Danno quickly decided to jump ship once it exited Slipspace, cautious at an undisclosed enemy engaging Covenant security teams aboard the Frigate. The Frigate's power system suffered a broken link from one of the skirmishes aboard the ship, which caused all the lighting to go out in addition to forcing the vessel out of Slipspace early. Danno engaged more Covenant troopers on his way to the hangar, but two-thirds of the way there he was also assaulted by an unknown, unidentifyable enemy which in actuality were Flood forms. Through valorous effort, Danno tore his way through them, suffering damage to his armor and a few wounds but managing to make it to a Spirit Dropship, and used it to flee the vessel. Shortly after his escape, a nearby UNSC Stalwart-class Light Frigate came across the Covenant Frigate and used its weapons to destroy it, killing everything aboard and preventing the spread of the unknown enemy that was the Flood. Danno was recovered by the Frigate after he identified himself, getting some time to patch up his injuries.

Battle of Coral[]

Late September 2552[]

A Covenant Battlegroup arrived at Coral shortly after Danno was recovered, forcing him to participate in its defense and engage the aliens in battle. Their efforts were a success, and the Covenant force was annihilated through a long and prosperous fight. Danno was taken aboard the Frigate back to Earth to help build up its defense in the wake of the Fall of Reach; unfortunately, sometime after their departure a larger Covenant force arrived at Coral, overwhelmed what was left of the UNSC force there, and reportedly glassed the planet.

Having returned to Earth, Danno recovered and became fully operational, receiving repairs for his damaged armor. Having been warned of an impending Covenant attack on Earth which was merely delayed by John-117, UNSC High Command underwent several prepatory works to build up Earth's defenses. During this time, Danno received a new set of MJOLNIR Mk VI armor to replace the Mk V, which was only recently tested by Spartan Maria-062.

Battle of Earth[]

Orbital Station Defense[]

October 20, 2552[]

Danno was aboard one of the UNSC Orbital Defense Platforms when the Prophet of Regret's Covenant Fleet arrived. Assigned to station defense like John-117 on Cairo, Danno repelled Covenant boarding parties as the UNSC Navy devastated Regret's fleet. Upon witnessing Covenant capital ships making up the fleet, Danno quickly came up with the idea of reinitiating Operation: RED FLAG, targetting one of the CAS-class Assault Carriers. The Spartan quickly forwarded the plot to the ODP's commanding officer; however, the theatre of the Naval battle did not present a clear opportunity, and any trial would instigate a tremendous risk of assets and personnel. In spite of the brilliance of the idea, his plan was regretfully turned down. Henceforth, he remained aboard the station and successfully repelled Covenant boarding parties. During the fight, Danno and the other personnel aboard the ODP witnessed the Athens being destroyed by an internally detonated Covenant Antimatter charge. Fleet Admiral Hood immediately issued an order for all personnel aboard every ODP that even had a scrap of space debris from the battle drifting nearby to do a full sweep of their station to prevent further losses of vital orbital stations. Following this command, Danno and all other defenders initiated a complete search of their ODP, eliminating any additional Covenant boarders that managed to get inside. Once the Malta ODP was destroyed, the search effort trippled and their pace quickened. Fortunately, the defending efforts of those aboard the ODP ensured no Covenant charges made it aboard. Initially, Danno was to be transferred to another ODP station to aid in fighting more boarding parties; however, the priority changed once the Cairo ODP Covenant boarders were eliminated by Master Chief John-117, who shortly after destroyed one of the enemy Assault Carriers using a stolen Antimatter Charge. The remainder of the Covenant fleet was taken out, save for the other Assault Carrier which made it through the Naval defense and set up for a ground invasion in East Africa. Danno was then moved to a Marine unit to help in the ground defense, placed aboard a Pelican dropship, and flown to the Earth's surface near New Mombasa.

1st Phase[]

Danno-048 was delivered to Haller Park in Old Mambasa as part of a UNSC Marine Company supporting a Tank Platoon. Their preferred landing and assembly site, Moi International Airport, was unavaliable due to its proximity to the Prophet of Regret's Assault Carrier, Solemn Penance. Danno was initially transported via Warthog using Nyali Rd, along with the UNSC ground force steadily clearing their way through Covenant forces in Old Mambasa to make a landing in the city sector that was New Mombasa.

Along the way, the contingent split across several roads and sectors as to avoid all being destroyed through one surgical Covenant strike. Danno and his group of Marines and Warthogs, supporting a pair of Scorpion Tanks, engaged against multiple collections of Covenant Infantry and Vehicles; clusters of Grunts and Elites, Jackals, Drones, Ghosts and Wraiths. The group had to stop temporarily to take on a Hunter pair and a small group of Banshees, though they continued on shortly after.

However, the Warthogs and Scorpions were lost after being pinned down by some Wraiths and Shadows that blockaded the road ahead. The appearance of a Scarab assault platform prompted most of the Marines to immediately flee and take cover, while the Warthog and Scorpion operators sacrificed themselves to draw the Scarab's attention; the vehicles were destroyed seconds later, though Danno and most of the Marines were able to hide and take cover in the adjacent buildings. The Scarab was then destroyed from a huge volley of coordinated rocket fire from both adjacent buildings, courtesy of the Marines and Danno's retaliation. The Wraiths and Shadows were then taken out next, allowing them to proceed on foot.

The group was not able to rejoin the Vehicular Platoon until they reached Liberty Street; an area of Sector 0-5 that had previously been cleared out by Master Chief John-117, Sergeant Major Johnson, and their squad of Marines. The area had been reclaimed by Covenant forces to prevent further influx of UNSC infantry to proceed within the city, prompting Danno and the Marines to assist the Vehicles in clearing out another path. A lengthy engagement of Infantry, Vehicles, and Aircraft from both sides poured into the area, creating a "Firefight" situation featuring reinforcements from both sides. Eventually, the area was cleared of Covenant forces, allowing the damaged Scorpion, three Warthogs, and leftover 33 Marines to accompany Danno to continue to a rally point just outside of New Mombasa.

After integrating in a larger UNSC ground force collecting just outside New Nyali Bridge, Danno proceeded across the bridge fending off waves of Covenant Banshees and Phantoms that came to stop them. Making it across the Bridge, Danno and the initial wave of troops and vehicles held the other side, chipping away at the Covenant defenses set up so the rest of the assault force could make it across. After securing their position, Danno was transferred to a Warthog strike force to proceed to New Mombasa's Seawall to destroy a collection of Covenant Weevil Artillery units placed there.

The Warthog force cleared past Covenant Infantry and Ghosts, and made it to the Seawall. They had to leave the Warthogs behind and proceed up the wall on foot; eliminating any Covenant infantry holding the wall, they made it to the top and used heavy weapons to destroy the Weevils, allowing UNSC Aircraft clear passage to New Mombasa to support UNSC troops.

Danno was then called upon to quickly assist in the defense of Wind Power Station 7, taking transportation via Pelican dropship out of New Mombasa. The dropship was part of a 4-aircraft flight full of reinforcing Marines, ODSTs, and a couple of Warthogs.

Halfway between Mombasa and Zanzibar was when Regret's Carrier exited Earth's atmosphere via Slipspace. The Pelicans were far enough away to ensure they weren't affected.

Arriving at Zanzibar, the UNSC force landed on the beach behind a Covenant force well defended in the nearby coastal wall, who was almost successful in defeating the last stranded Marine forces in the Power Station. After assessing the damage, Danno and the Marines holed down with all their equipment while the Pelicans departed to pick up additional troops and supplies; Danno and his allies held off the Station from multiple Covenant air strikes and troop deployments, in another "Firefight" situation, managing to repel all enemies with minimal casualties and loss of assets.

Here they remained for the rest of the battle, all the way into November, eliminating what few Covenant troops from Regret's invasion remained before encountering The Prophet of Truth's new Jiralhanae army. They were unable to be pulled out due to a loss of communication and effective air traffic of Covenant forces from Mombasa, ensuring Danno could not be extracted for more important operations requiring Spartans.

2nd Phase/November 2552[]

Eventually on November 15, the group managed to get communications back, calling for possible reinforcements and extraction by air. The presence of Danno made the effort a higher priority, as his presence in aiding more important areas of the Battle of Earth overtook the possible risk of sending transport through Covenant controlled space. This attracted the Covenant's attention to Zanzibar again as they were picking through the UNSC communication, drawing a new strike of Covenant drops to Zanzibar to take Wind Power Station 7 and destroy the Spartan that waited there.

Finally on November 16, the UNSC's retaliation against The Prophet of Truth cleared the air over Zanzibar, enabling the extraction of the exhausted Marine troops and Danno out of the Station. Transferring new troops to defend the Station, the Pelicans then took Danno back towards Mombasa, in the area of Voi where the final assault against Truth was about to take place.

Danno received a few update packages to his MJOLNIR Mk VI armor along with repair in preparation for the final phase of battle. As there was a large collection of Covenant forces enhancing a ring of Mantis Anti-Aircraft Towers surrounding Truth's Keyship, Danno was part of just one of many UNSC forces to destroy these towers. Danno and his group pushed through Covenant defenses set up on the way to one of these Towers, encountering infantry, vehicles and aircraft. After finally destroying their Tower, Danno remained in the area to wait for the other Towers to be disabled; the last tower, taken down by John-117, was destroyed about 16 minutes later.

The arrival of the Flood in Voi immediately after Truth's departure prompted the UNSC to turn to defense. Danno was part of a larger effort to keep the Flood from spreading, a collaboration of multiple smaller, scattered UNSC ground units. During this effort, he began to recall his previous encounter with the Flood following the Fall of Reach, reaching an ultimate realization that the previous encounter and the current situation involved the same menace.

After he helped clear out his sector of Flood forces, the Covenant Separatists under former Special Operations Commander Rtas 'Vadum arrived to supplement the UNSC in other sectors. Danno was extracted from the area minutes before John-117 was pulled from the crashed Flood ship, allowing the Separatists to begin glassing the area to prevent the Flood from spreading.

Realizing the Separatist battlegroup was glassing more than just the entirety of Voi, Danno was part of a larger disagreement headed by Fleet Admiral Hood, who opposed the fact that the Sangheili had turned half of the whole African continent into ash, destroying a huge area of land that also resulted in significant losses of ecosystems, resources, human lives and military assets.

The end of the War[]

After the Separatists departed with the UNSC Forward Unto Dawn, Danno was sent to North America along with other UNSC forces to help repel the last of Truth's Covenant forces. It was here that he met a few other Spartans that would one day become a part of the Adventure Group.

After defeating the last of the Covenant on Earth, Danno and the others made mass preparations for the arrival of High Charity and the Flood invasion force. The terror that would beset them had penetrated the Sol System, easing through interplanetary space due to the severe losses on the UNSC's part thanks to the Covenant's initial attack. The Flood force made it all the way to Mars uncontested, with a clear and straight shot at Earth. Despite humanity's best attempts, there would be no way the UNSC would be able to defend against such an attack.

Luckily, the activity going on at Installation 00, aka the Ark, spurred the Flood's interest, causing them to travel there via Slipspace instead of continuing to Earth. This arrival caused a huge load of problems for the Covenant Separatists and small UNSC force there, but it saved Earth and the whole of humanity, giving them additional time to shore up their defenses. Thanks to the end results of the Battle of Installation 00, the ensuing Flood attack never came to Earth as the parasite was destroyed there. As such, Danno and the others had holed up in a fortification in North America, prepared for a massive attack which never came. The Human-Covenant War came to an end, the Flood was defeated, and the following weeks were spent mourning the dead, cleaning up the damage and repairing the defense and military strength of Earth.

Crossover: The Adventure Group[]

The Adventure Group[]

Immediately following the end of the Human-Covenant War, the UNSC remained busy in dealing with the after-effects; rebuilding the defenses of the Inner Colonies, cleaning up the damages and various mess left from the war, reclaiming lost and scattered territories once under the banner of Earth, and dealing with what remained of the Covenant faction that refused to back down even in total defeat. As part of this movement, Danno participated in a wide array of engagements against what remained of the broken Covenant for the next couple years.

Danno-048 16

Danno in MJOLNIR Mk VI

During these engagements, Danno initially met Marquis-B589, a Spartan-III of notable skill and experience with great leadership qualities. The two ended up working together in various operations, which led to them meeting and working with others, including the pair that was Church-024 and Asuna-B312. For a time, this small team participated in conventional missions against the remnants of the Covenant empire, facing various sub-factions lead by different warlords that tried to keep their pieces of the Covenant intact, such as leftover Jiralhanae Chieftains of the Covenant Loyalists, a handful of Sangheili creating their own groups, and even one or two Prophets that succeeded in gathering their own armies as well.

However, these missions would soon turn into expansive exploration operations taken by the UNSC, leading them into contacting the Universal Council of Races and leading to the Spartan's participation in the NDE conflict. It was here that the team met other individuals: a Xenomorph Test Subject that had sentience, am augmented Sangheili warrior, and a superpowered human adventurer among others. United as a team, this gathering was the birth of what would come to be the Galaxy's greatest team of heroes: The Adventure Group. Granted temporary leniancy by the UNSC to help promote peace, Danno remained in service to the UNSC but granted the freedom to participate in the Adventure Group.

Danno-048 09

Danno's prelude to his future Forerunner awakening

It was during his time with the Adventure Group that Danno gained an even deeper familiarity in training and comfort with alien weapons, mostly from using remnant Covenant weapons and gear. At one point, Danno even located a Sentinel Factory on one Forerunner Shield World, activating it and making use of the automated drones during a mission. This use of Sentinels can be seen something as a look forward into Danno's future, where he would transition from using Human-derived technologies to those made by the Forerunners.

Discovering the Sangheili Headhunter[]

Once, after returning from one of his adventures, Danno discovered several private bunkers across multiple colony worlds were mysteriously being attacked and raided for armor equipment. Figuring out a pattern, he arrived at his own bunker on the colony world Minister, just hours before the thief showed up. Mounting a considerable defense, he had the Bunker's automated turret systems engage the enemy on sight while other defensive systems would be used as traps. To Danno's surprise, the enemy proved hard to detect for the automated systems, using some form of enhanced thermal cloaking.

Danno moved to engage the threat himself, discovering it was a Sangheili wearing a gold Ranger combat harness. He used a multitude of weapons to attack, but his foe proved very well trained and enhanced for an Elite. The fight went through multiple areas of the Bunker, with the Sangheili getting what he was looking for; a healing unit, which he immediately used to tend to his wounds as he continued to fight the Spartan. The fight met its end when it carried on to the vehicular bay of the Bunker, with a few ground and aircraft being used by both individuals until the Headhunter used a Pelican to escape through a hole blown in the wall. Danno attempted to pursue in a modified Hornet, but lost his target and the healing unit. He returned to the base to close shop and conduct thorough maintenance.

Survival games[]

Fotus armor

Danny's Forerunner armor

Sometime after being given his new mission, Danno, along with other members of the Adventure Group and various other warriors and soldiers from multiple worlds and factions, was suddenly teleported into a series of survival games by the entity known as "Deus Ex Machina." Haven been captured into the games with whatever he had on him at the time, Danno happened to be wearing the Gen2 undersuit and carried his Forerunner armor on his person, which was collapsed into a small handheld unit. He activated the armor shortly after the games started, unveiling his Forerunner armor for the first time. Danno did not, however, bring any weapons with him; he was forced to pick up an MA5D he found on a corpse from one of the slain participants of the game.

After a great deal of chaos in the battle in which many friends and enemies were slain by each other, Danno encountered Evil Yoko; he was the one that suggested that they should go against the rules and work together, to which she agreed. He was reluctant to attack any UNSC forces at that point because he still had connections to them. Danno demonstrated his reluctance in slaying UNSC units by specially requesting Evil Yoko, and anyone else he came across, to not harm UNSC personnel, instead simply disable them non-lethally. Unfortunately, the Adventure Group members were the only ones that believed it was Danno in the Forerunner armor, and so all UNSC forces attacked him anyway. Upon being engaged by UNSC Marines and ODSTs, Evil Yoko, Danny, and a few others fought to hold against them. He demonstrated new combative skills taught by Evil Yoko, but his did not make matters better for him; after the Master Chief himself, John-117, appeared and attacked, the legendary figure managed to kill Sparky. Evil Yoko then became enraged, and tore off and smashed the Spartan's head. This completely baffled Danno, who froze in place in utter disbelief and shock as one of his brothers he swore to fight with when he was very young was brutally murdered. After an initial, violent disagreement with Evil Yoko, Danno reluctantly accepted the fact that Evil Yoko was his best shot at survival, and continued to assist her in the games.

Soon after, another fireteam of Marines appeared; this one lead by the fastest Spartan, Kelly-087. After a brief brawl with Evil Yoko, she was easily defeated; her speed was not enough. Danny then got her at pistol gun-point, and tried to convince Kelly to switch sides and join with him. However, she refused, and almost got an opportunity to kill Danno before Evil Yoko stepped in and saved him, killing Kelly in the process.

At this point, Danny began suffering mentally from the loss of another Spartan-II so quickly after the first. With her and most of the others dead or gone, he clashed within his mind of his identity and purpose, conflicted with his lifetime conviction to preserve the UNSC or continue slaying his closest brothers and sisters who would not hesitate to kill him.

When Evil Yoko began discussing what they should do next, they were suddenly attacked by a sniper. Danno recognized the way the attack came, because he'd grown up with the attacker all his life: Linda-053. Suffering a breakdown, Danno immediately told Evil Yoko that he was going to take care of it, and that she should stay away. He found Linda after some painstaking work, and hesitated; once she discovered Danno and made her attempt to assassinate him up close, he completely lost it, managing to overpower Linda in melee combat and hurling her off the cliff to where Evil Yoko was. The impact of Linda in her armor formed a large crater, shaking Evil Yoko who backed away as Danno jumped down on Linda and landed on her with great force. This crushed a significant portion of her armor, permanently disabling and crippling Linda; Danno subsequently acquired her combat knife, quietly apologizing to her before forcing the blade up into her lower jaw.

Danno then retrieved Linda's side weapon, a BR85 HB Battle Rifle, and rejoined Evil Yoko who stood by and watched the whole thing. The pair then found Yuno, and aided her in finding Yuki. Shortly after, Danno was thrown off his feet from the suprise detonation of concealed bombs nearby, and was then attacked by shadow creatures. Everyone other than Yuno had disappeared after the explosions; Yuno yelled at Danno to escape so he could survive the games while she fought the shadow creatures with her powers. Danno, broken of his resolve, managed to escape, leaving Yuno to die from the horde of creatures. Just as he was about to give up on everything, he was ambushed by a stray shadow creature; however, he was saved by Evil Yoko, who either didn't abandon him or decided he was worth helping after dipping out on him. They finished off the other shadow creatures, and found Yuno's corpse, which was restored to life. Danno gave her special thanks for her courage and self-sacrifice.

At that point, the survival games ended; reality seemed to crumble around Danno as everything faded away, including his companions and the land he was standing on. When it clicked to him that everything was merely an illusion, and that no one had died during the games, Danno collapsed from exhaustion and mental fatigue, still deeply disturbed by what he witnessed during the games.

Abandoning the UNSC[]

Ultimately, Danno contemplated withdrawing from the UNSC alltogether. A number of reasons contributed to this decision: the Human-Covenant War, the main conflict he participated in and had ultimate purpose for, was long over; the Adventure Group required ever-increasing levels of dedication which would be hampered by continued UNSC service; the events at Requiem, which had him rethink how history played out and what the Forerunners were, and their relationship with humanity; his secret mission placed upon him by the Monitor of the Line Installation; and finally, the mind-shattering Survival Games he was forced to participate in.

After some time and consideration, Danno made his decision to walk away from the UNSC, and attempted to submit for separation. He gathered some resources, but due to some conflictions to how the UNSC wanted to deal with retiring Spartans, would be required to remain in UNSC territory; still wanting to directly help the Adventure Group, Danno vouched to instead take a transport to CMF space, where Church had taken up residence and leadership.

Building an army[]

When Danno moved his primary residence to Church's island, he went on a search in nearby areas for Forerunner technology. He acquired weapons, armor, munitions, machines, and the knowledge to use them. To his utter surprise, Danno also came across a Composer, as well as a small Forerunner vessel, intact and operational, docked within an artificial node concealed on one of the CMF's planets. Aware of the Composer and its capabilities, Danno secretly tested the device on a group of Insurrection pirates hiding out in CMF space; seeing it was fully functional and performed its task perfectly, Danno soon produced his first group of Promethean Knights with the imprints he harvested from the bodies of the pirates. Danno would keep the Composer as one of his most heavily-guarded secrets, resolving to never use it except for dire emergencies. Danno would become aquainted with his newfound Forerunner technology, making his own home on a small island, on the same planet as Church's home but far off from where his friend's place was. After shaping his home into a fortress, Danno granted Church a small group of Prometheans as a gift to act as special guards, and told him that if more were needed he had the means to make them. On the island that his new home was built upon, Danno also discovered a Cryptum buried beneath the island. Almost stupidly, Danno chose to open the Cryptum by himself without telling anyone first; fortunately but almost to his disappointment, Danno found the Cryptum was empty. Deciding to use if for himself, Danno was then alerted by a sudden attack by the UNSC on Church's island. Danno left the Cryptum, teleported to Church's home via a translocation grid provided by Church, and jammed the UNSC from taking the CMF Liberator blueprints from Church. He simultaneously awoke the dormant Prometheans he gave Church, and summoned a group of supporting Sentinels. This was in vain, however, since the battle came to a conclusion and the UNSC was drawn away from the planet. With this, he deactivated the Prometheans and Sentinels, gathered more Prometheans for Church's use including his most noble Knight Commander to lead them under Church's command, and returned to his own fabricated home. Danno placed the Cryptum under the ocean near the island for safekeeping, and made the island his humble abode, transferring whatever of his personal possessions he was able to bring with him from the UNSC, as well as his belongings acquired from his quests with the Adventure Group.

Liberation and capture[]

When Church moved to rescue his parents from an Insurrectionist colony, he called upon Danny's assistance to aid him. Danny answered without hesitation: his ship, The Judjement, arriving in the system in 4 minutes. From atmosphere, his ship deployed a small squad of Promethean Knights, lead by a Knight Lancer, to aid Church, Evo, a small squad of Spartan-IVs and Joker-066. However, as soon as they cleared out the Rebels and got to Church's/Evo's parents, a fleet of ships from the Hand of Tonitrui faction appeared to take the Judgement.

A large battle ensued in the sky, as Church called upon the Liberator to take out the fleet, Judgement moving in beside the Liberator to assist. However, despite the massive firepower of both ships combined, plus the unexpected aid of a highly modified Covenant Banshee that appeared from Slipspace, the Hand of Tonitrui fleet just had too many numbers on their side; eventually, the Liberator's starboard Point defense weapons were destroyed by a suicidal Covenant Cruiser, allowing the Jiralhanae Army Commander's personal, heavily altered Destroyer to move in broadside with the Judgement and launch a massive wave of Covenant boarding craft before it's heavy shielding faltered below 10% from the Judgement's Point defense weaponry.

The boarding party consisted first of a wave of nearly 100 Suicide grunts; all but 10 of these perished from the closing walls, light barriers, and opening deck floors before they reached the bridge, where Promethean Knights dispatched the rest of them. Zeta, Church's AI, teleported a team of Spartan-IVs onboard the bridge to assist Danny after an increasing amount of Brutes managed to down all of the Promethean guards. The Spartans successfully managed to hold back an advanced wave of Jump Pack Brutes flying over them to reach Danno, while multiple Brute Stalkers entered under active cammo; the small brute squad was defeated by the Spartans.

Despite this, multiple teams of Hunters were sent into the Bridge, flanked by Brute Chieftains wielding Gravity hammers, and once this moment approached the tide of the skirmish had turned. The Modified Banshee, turning out to be the craft of the Elite Headhunter, dealt major damage to a few cruisers of the fleet and the Judgement (Attempting to take it down before the Brutes could get a hold of the ship). However, the Elite failed to realize that once the boarding party caught sight of Danny on the Bridge, they had very little concern over the ship itself anymore, going straight for Danny, thinking of him as an advanced Forerunner Sentinel/Promethean.

The Hunters and Chieftains were dealt with, but they had weakened and downed enough Spartan-IVs for many more Brutes to have gathered, reinforced by Grunts, Jackals, and a couple more Hunters. This time, Church himself teleported on board after realizing that somehow, the Covenant had jammed Danny's ability to teleport out of the ship, and the ship's own ability to teleport out of the system. He and Danny together made a final stand on board the bridge, Danny using a Scattershot while Church dual wielded Suppressors, and later energy knives, to combat the horde.

Unfortunately, this was not enough to stop the horde. While the broadside Destroyer was just starting to release it's second wave of troops (The whole entire boarding party that dealt so much damage to the inner defense being just the first wave), the Jiralhanae Army Commander finally got tired and boarded the ship himself; he entered the bridge with multiple Honor Guard Brutes, using his Powerful Gravity Hammer to knock Church away, and had the Honor Guard Brutes combat Church while the Army Commander himself attacked Danny.

Danny, despite being as powerful as he was, was already beginning to tire; having had little experience against the Ferocious, Fresh (As in full stamina, no tiredness) Army Commander, he was felled rather quickly. Danny was knocked back far against the Bridge's Hardlight console, stunned upon impact both from the Gravity hammer and from the high force of impact against the hardlight. Immediately, Church rose up to defend him, but was sucked into and thrown back by the Army Commander's Vortex ability.

Then, using a Teleportation field, the Army Commander summoned a whole force of advanced "Flamethrower" Brutes to defend his exit as the Army commander went to take Danny. Danny, in his last few minutes of being with the Adventure Group (For now), saw Mari enter the Bridge Just at that moment, retracting his helmet to look at her one final time before he was taken.... she noticed then his eyes changed from the orange they had been for nearly a month to the old, cold blue they used to be when he first started using his original Forerunner armor. Danny was then taken by the Jiralhanae after Church shouted a promise, telling him he would find Danny as soon as he could.

The Judgement, having been held up off the ground by the Liberator's Gravity lift, finally fell and impacted the surface. There it remained until the Liberator could use it's Gravity beam to tow it back to Danny's Island, where it has remained floating up in the air a few miles above the island.

The Hand of Tonitrui fleet, believing themselves to have captured an advanced Forerunner Robot, realised upon Danny's helmet retraction that the construct they had been taking was actually a living creature, whom seemed to possess the traits of both Forerunner and Human. They left the system with their captor.

Rescue[]

Eventually, with the assistance of the Spirit of Fire and Exon and Bad Company forces, The UCR sent a small fleet that managed to rescue Danny. The UCR had Marq lead a team composed of Church, Evo, Headhunter (After his arrival and alliance), the Three Spartans from the Spirit of Fire, Stacker, and others.

After arriving at the Jiralhanae homeworld of Doisac, where the Hand of Tonitrui were keeping Danny, the allied force managed to demolish it's 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Defense fleets. These fleets were composed of many smaller ships, moderate numbers of cruiser-type ships, and a small number of drednaught ships, respectively. Once the force deployed ground forces, they took on the Jiralhanae on the planet's surface; They managed to somewhat easily carve through the Brute defense force. In the first Covenant Base encountered, the Jiralhanae Army Commander was interrogated after losing a battle with Church and Evo; after revealing Danny's location, the Army Commander was then killed.

After blasting through the other bases, and many, many brute units, including waves of Banshees and vehicles such as Ghosts, Brute choppers and Prowlers, and Wraiths, the ground force eventually got to a large crater surrounded by a mountain system, with a massive Covenant Fortress in the center. However, before they could proceed, the ground force was easily destroyed by an advanced tribe of the Jiralhanae that used Sonic weaponry.

Even so, the team managed to hold their ground before all the ground foundations were demolished; with the assistance of Church, Stacker, and Headhunter, Marquis managed to kill the clan leader and find the whereabouts of Danny. As they blasted their way back towards the Fortress and breached it, they went through it, chamber by chamber, slaughtering any Brutes in their way, and tearing down any defense, to find him.

For hours they fought through waves of Grunts, Jackals, Hunters, Brutes, and as they went deeper, Drones, Combat-fitted Engineers and even derranged and enslaved Elites. The team got to the lower levels, where they found multiple torture and interrogation chambers, filled with humans, Elites, a couple Jackals, one or two Brutes from opposing clans, and many other species. Sotophirus decided it best to release any living occupants at the invaders; whoever was left of Marines, Hellbringers, ODSTs, and Bad Company soldiers were mostly torn apart by the waves of ravaging prisoners, who were also tearing Each other apart along with the invading team.

Despite this, the team managed to eliminate all these prisoners, and went into the next level. Here, they encountered nothing but hives upon hives of drones, the deeper they went, the stronger the drone variants, with more energy shielding and more powerful weapons. They also cleared through chambers filled with augmented Brutes, and Super Heavy Hunter units with Plasma throwers, energy shields, and increased size and strength.

Once all these were cleared through, the final chamber was left to clear through. In here, nearly 40 Chieftains awaited them in a room filled with sarcophoguses, similar to the storage chamber of the Arbiter armor on High Charity. All of them were filled with Jiralhanae war heroes, Elite legendary warriors, two Prophets whom were preserved for the purpose of leading a new Covenant, and one of them, containing Danny.

When they finally opened the pod containing Danny, they found him horribly injured; all of his armor removed, his Combat skin torn from cuts made with Plasma blades and Plasma arc welders, and Jiralhanae blades; burns made from heated iron in an attempt to brand Jiralhanae symbols onto his skin (Which were unsuccessful for reasons unknown); and extreme damage to his nervous structure due to their introduction to chemicals that were to numb and force him to answer all the questions they had, and an attempt to get him to become their mindless slave (Had the team been delayed for about 2 days, they might have been successful); and some manner in which they attampted to modify his skeletal structure.

A final battle with the Jiralhanae alpha tribe, Sotophirus included, had the team decide it was finally time to leave with Danny. They only managed to kill one aplha jiralhanae before they left, but the Headhunter pursued them as the jirahlahae themselves teleported out to a separate location on the planet; Doisac was then glassed and it's surface bombarded by the fleet in orbit as the team returned with Danny, who was slowly being healed by Marq and recovering by his own healing power.

Bonding with Yuno Gasai[]

After this, he decided to take a visit aboard the Daedalus for one visit before he returned home. Here, he witnessed that Grif had a daughter who heavily resembled Yoko, and was his difficulty in being a father as Yuno struggled to try to be a mother figure. It was also here that he discovered her crush on him; after this, he agreed to go out with her. He is currently dating with Yuno, taking a heavy, deep interest in her.

However, this sturred up some conflict with his previous girlfriend, Mari. He was deeply distraught by this, but chose to stick with Yuno. Danno promised to do whatever he can to help Mari find another partner.

Exodus[]

After some time, Danno made preparations for a journey that he had kept a closely-guarded secret. He amassed a larger number of Prometheans after using his Composer on an undisclosed group of sentients, incorporating other types of Prometheans as well as crafting a large number of Sentinels. Adding Combat skins and Forerunner weapons, he also found and activated an Artificial Intelligence which he renamed "Authoritative Transposer" after it couldn't remember its name or purpose. After gathering his resources, he took his ship from his island, filled it with his units and equipment, and departed CMF space, unaware of the stowaways that managed to sneak aboard his ship, who happened to be Alien and X.

Once he was made aware of a foreign presence aboard his ship, Danno diverted his course and engaged his security measures, preparing to eliminate whatever it was. He was pursued by the UNSC Zeus during this time, which brought further complication after some of his ship's internal systems suffered compromise from Alien and X.

Emerging from slipspace at the diverted coordinates, Danno bore witness to a lone planet orbiting a dying Star. The Zeus followed close behind, and it was here Danno made his stand. After a great conflict, his ship was finally severely damaged by an overlooked Nuke; Danthrall then made his way to his Cryptum, avoiding Alien, X, and Evo along the way, who for some reason either could not recognize at the time or completely ignored as he seemed hostile towards them. He escaped in his Cryptum before the Judgement impacted the planet's surface. He then took the Cryptum and plowed it through the Zeus, crippling it beyond repair as it then, too, impacted the planet's surface. However, he was unaware that Alien and X managed to successfully penetrate the Cryptum.

Evil Danno[]

(wip, will work soon.)

The Wraith Conflict[]

(wip, need tips and notes from anyone who remembers what happened here.)

Death of Yuno Gasai[]

Following a horrific accident in which Church accidentally killed Yuno, Danno was overwhelmed with fury and sorrow. He remained away from Church, unwilling to enact vengeance but unable to confront him on the matter.

After some time, Danno finally allowed Church to apologize, and later accepted the fact that it was an accident, and either way that Yuno was gone. Even still, he did not appear fully recovered from the loss until many years later.

Meditation[]

After the Wraith conflict and death of Yuno, Danthrall retreated to his home for meditation, pondering on the past events and coming to the conclusion that he needed time to be away to strengthen himself and augment his power. After discovering a method to physically change himself into a Forerunner, Danno gathered his defenses to watch over his home, handing over responsibility to Church before going on a self-imposed exile. He kept all information regarding his exile highly classified, with the CMF taking him and his Cryptum in secret to his place of chosing, Installation 06, where he would remain in deep meditation while his body underwent its alteration. Danno told Church to select an individual who would awaken him when he was needed, someone who was a capable warrior and worthy of passing his quickly-thought up security trial which would protect him from outside disturbance. After this, Danno took the Cryptum to the surface of Installation 06, burried it in ice, enacted his security measures, and sealed himself within the Cryptum, initiating the deprivation of his body's resources to preserve his form; ceasing his aging, starting his physical transformation and entering a deep meditative trance.

Reawakening[]

After 15 years, Church was found after his departure from events during the peace following the Wraith conflict. He decided it was time to bring Danno back; after some consideration, he selected Natsumi Yamamoto to awaken Danno. Taking a ship to Installation 06, Church directed Natsumi to undergo the trial Danno put in place in order to bring him back. She took a dropship with basic troop escort to the surface, with Church remaining aboard the ship in orbit.

The group touched down just outside a small cave near Danno's place of meditation; inside the cave, the escort remained behind to allow Natsumi to begin her trial. She progressed through levels of Forerunner defenses, including Sentinels, auto-turrets, and Promethean defenders, all of which she managed to defeat and successfully made it to the terminal that would open the Cryptum and revive Danno. The whole time she performed the trial, from beginning to end, Natsumi was monitored by Danno, who was drawn from his meditation as soon as she began. Once the Cryptum was opened and Danno emerged, he assessed his new form with Natsumi bearing witness; he grew in size and mass, took on most of the general features of Forerunner physiology, and with Natsumi's help restored his health to full strength with revitalization technology. After doing so, he tested some of his new features including enhanced heat-based regeneration and augmentive powers, and donned a new Combat Skin reminiscent of the Didact's. Danno then exited the cavern with Natsumi, greeted the troop escort, and emerged outside to extract his Cryptum from the ice.

Danno thanked Natsumi for her participation in his revival and revitalization, biding her farewell and safe travels back home. He boarded the dropship with her and the other troops, having the Cryptum stowed inside the ship in orbit, and greeted Church as they returned home.

Once they got back, Danno gifted Church with a number of new pieces of technology including a new Combat Skin, weapons, and devices. He left a number of his Prometheans and other Forerunner machines to Church, reclaiming most of the ones he left and making his return to his home.

Return to Earth[]

Curious of the state of Earth after his extensive time away, Danno decided to pay a visit to humanity's home planet. Danno acquired a new Forerunner ship that he dubbed Sungate, and used it for his travels; making a quick stop at Concord, he encountered A.L.I.E.N., and decided to take the AI with him to Earth.

Upon arrival, the UNSC, mistaking Danno for another Forerunner attack, immediately met him with hostility and engaged him in combat. Danno was able to endure the UNSC's attacks, and retaliated with his own, damaging a number of vessels. After the hostilities, the fighting was put to an end when negotiations were made; Danno, impressed with what he saw, offered to immediately depart, apologizing for the flashy appearance that clearly put the UNSC on high alert. He was allowed to leave, but was forced to leave behind A.L.I.E.N. to the UNSC, which he complied to and departed shortly after.

Family[]

Danny

Danny

Eventually, Danno hooked up with Mari again, and they, in time, got married. Mari then became pregnant, and Danno decided to devote most of his attention towards his new family, what he believes is his greatest achievement. Eventually, it came out to be Danno and Mari having twin boys. However, right after birth, one of the children was taken by a mysterious kidnapper. Danno reluctantly left Mari and the remaining son in order to chase after the kidnapper with Church and Alien-King in tow. Despite a valiant effort, Danno had to make the decision to allow him to escape so that his son would not be harmed. He however vowed that he would rescue his son. Returning home with Mari, they named their remaining child Titus.

Danno organized a hunt for the kidnapper, Evil Z, with Church and the CMF, allowing Alien-King to participate and also hiring Samus. They went to a planet's abandoned city, where hints of extra-dimensional events were reported to occur, and as they searched they were attacked by dark creatures. Defeating them and taking out the portal they were emerging from, they then had a confrontation against Evil-Z.

Following this, Danno hadn't found a significant threat that demanded his attention. He went back and forth between UCR and CMF territories, spending most of his time monitoring Forerunner artifacts, observing conflicts across the galaxy, trying to find lost items from his time in the UNSC, and mostly, with his family. Titus seems to take more of an understanding and inheritance to Danno's interests and attributes, while his other son is strangely unresponsive unless Mari is nearby.

Death of Church Mas7er[]

Upon hearing the disaster of Cineris and the fall of Church, Danno grieved greatly; not only was another member of the adventure group lost, he was a close companion to Danno whom had battled and survived together inumerous times.

Danno attended the service for his passing, where he gave a eulogy and comforted family and friends that were there. He spent much of his time at the side of Mari and their children.

Immediately following the service, Danno ensured Mari and their children were transitioned to a safe location in the CMF. He then began movements preparing for a possible encounter with the foe responsible for Church's death; having what knowledge was given to him by the CMF, Danno initiated production for war machines and equipment, looking into the combat prowess of his ship. He does not intend to hunt the ones responsible, at least not yet; he moves to secure first his family, then the rest of the Adventure group, and finally the rest of the galaxy from whatever it was that claimed his brother.

Justice[]

While still in preparation mode, Danno has amassed quite a capable force in hopes of somehow avenging the loss of Church, and ending the threat of the Void once and for all. Despite his mortal status and conventional tactics, one cannot underestimate the depth of Danno's plans.

Taking considerable lengths of time for consideration and study, Danno has some well-thought strategy in aiding the galaxy against the Void when the eventual battle occurs. Legion upon legion of combat machines have been forged; dozens of Sentinel variants, collections of Promethean constructs, and the gathering of greater weapons of Forerunner construction. Additionally, Danno has gone out to attempt acquiring mystical powers for himself as well, to compensate for his complete lack of any spiritual powers.

Powers/Abilities[]

Spartan-II[]

Danno-048 04

Danno-048

As a Spartan-II Supersoldier of the United Nations Space Command Defense Force, Danno-048 held a number of superhuman traits. Possessing greatly enhanced strength, speed, durability, vision, regenerative properties and a tremendously decreased reaction time as a result of the Spartan-II Augmentation procedures, Danno-048 was an icon of human achievement during wartime, created to combat the greater threats of the then-present Insurrectionist and Covenant threats. Additionally, the Neural Implant he received allowed him to interface directly with MJOLNIR armor and additional systems, or to be improved by an AI.

Danno-048's skeleton was covered in a thin layer of an advanced ceramic carbide material, rendering them much more resilient to trauma and requiring great forces to fracture. His muscles were also enhanced, boosting their tissue strength and decreasing lactase production as well as strengthening the connection with tendons, allowing him greater physical strength and endurance. The skeletal and muscular systems were both improved for growth and reinforcement, with increased musclemass and bone density. Nerves were enhanced to increase effectivity to 300%, improving memory, creativity and intelligence. Capillaries in the eyes were reversed to improve blood flow, enhancing visual acuity and granting limited night vision.

Due to these augmentations, Danno's base physical abilities were far greater than that of any regular human. He became strong enough to lift three times his weight while only 14 years old, and tearing weapons and armor off of UNSC battlefield equipment such as vehicles. Danno was clocked at running at speeds maxing out at 54 kph/33.55 mph. His reaction time was also logged at around 20 miliseconds; to others, he appeared to move at a blur in stressful situations, able to react and counter threats far before regular eyesight could even register the attack.

Spartan-IV[]

Upon his indoctrination into the Spartan-IV program, Danno-048 received updated augmentations laid over his Spartan-II procedure. These enhancements served to slightly improve his superhuman abilities with up-to-date technology and science, increasing his high levels of human performance. The updated augmentations also served to help integrate him into the new MJOLNIR Gen2 armor system.

Forerunner[]

After undergoing a Brevet Mutation while in his self-imposed exile during the 15 years of peace, Danno-048's Spartan Augmentations were essentially undone and replaced with Forerunner genetic alteration. The process was risky, as it was a Brevet Mutation due to the lack of a living Forerunner to perform the procedure. Despite this, Danno came out unharmed in the end, with the effects of the mutation quite apparent immediately after he was revived. His Neural Interface was removed, with the leftover space reaccounted for by brain mass that improved his intelligence, memory, and creativity. As a result of this mutation, Danno obtained the physical features of a Forerunner Warrior-Servant, save for his head which mostly resembled his original human appearance.

Danno's base physical traits were greatly improved, far more than even the Spartan-V despite the removal of his former augmentations. Outside an enhancing suit, Danno's physical prowess was greater than that of his highest capabilities as a Spartan-II in MJOLNIR armor. These traits would be even further improved when wearing a Combat Skin, making him essentially unmatched by most UNSC infantry personnel.

Equipment[]

Armor Enhanced[]

Wearing a suit of MJOLNIR armor or other powered exoskeletons designed to enhance the user's abilities, all of the above mentioned traits of Danno-048 were improved even further. For the first part of the Human-Covenant War, Danno-048 used the MJOLNIR Mk IV system; when the MJOLNIR Mk V came into use shortly before the Fall of Reach, Danno-048 began to use it, continuing until the Battle of Earth when he utilized the MJOLNIR Mk VI.

Danno-048 would also obtain various suits, such as Marine BDUs, ODST armor, HAYABUSA armor, other MJOLNIR variants, and the SPI armor. These he often kept in storage, using the different variants depending on the mission requirements.

Combat Skin[]

Danno wears a Class-8 Combat Skin, which calculated by the UNSC is 4 times as powerful as MJOLNIR armor. While relatively low on the scale of Forerunner battle suits, it nevertheless allows him great powers in combat situations. Without shielding activated, the Combat Skin can take a direct hit from an M41 Rocket Launcher and receive no damage or even scarring, only sending the wearer flying back a few feet from the force of the explosion. At full power, Danno's combat skin can take a direct shot from a Scorpion Tank with minor damage, though it can leave him disoriented. The recharge rate of the energy shield allows it to kick in 2 seconds after no contact, being fully charged 2 seconds later for a full charge time of 4 seconds after damage.

While wearing the combat skin, Danno's aging essentially ceases progression, improving his longevity to at least a few hundred years unassisted by outside medical technology; this, combined with his Forerunner mutation, contributes to his 20-30's appearance despite being near the end of a human lifespan. With the Warrior-Servant nature of his mutation, Danno is mentally linked to virtually every piece of Forerunner technology he owns, allowing him the remote control of weapon systems, defenses, or even a starship. It also connects him to the CMF and UCR databases, giving him up-to-date information on the events through the Milky Way Galaxy. Equipped with basic life-support, the Forerunner technologies in the Combat skin allow Danno to operate in any environment, including hot, cold, arid, toxic, pressurized, irradiated, and the vacuum of space for an extremely extensive period of time.

In conventional combat, Danno comes with a variety of offensive and defensive abilities afforded to his Combat skin to counter his foes:

  • Constraint Field - Basically a technological telekinesis, it allows the manipulation of projectiles or obstacles at zero to low velocity, such as rockets, grenades, vehicles, or enemy infantry. With his enhanced reaction time, he is also capable of capturing high-velocity targets, as long as he is focused.
  • Sentinel Beam - A projector in the palm of each hand grants him a variable output, high powered sentinel beam, ranging from a small beam to cut a lock to one powerful enough to carve through a warthog in a few seconds. The higher the output, the longer the recharge time.
  • Teleportation Grid - Broadcasted from his ship with his armor serving as a nexus, granting the ability of teleportation. He can use this on himself to evade combat, catch enemies by surprise, perform the Knight Lancer's zig-zag dash, send enemies or obstacles away, or to summon Sentinels, weapons, or companions to his side.
  • Hardlight Shield - In addition to his base shield, a hardlight shield generator on each forearm grants enhanced defensive measures, each capable of withstanding a direct hit from a high-powered rocket before failing.
  • Hardlight Blade - A pair of variable shaped blade projectors grants Danno the ability to use a hardlight blade in the shapes used by each Promethean Knight class.
  • Auto-Sentry deployer - A chest-mounted drone generator allows Danno to spawn an auto sentry to serve as an aid in combat. Accurate, moderate rate of fire, packs a punch, can down a Spartan-IV in 4 shots.
  • Promethean Vision - Enhances vision significantly, allowing him to see through solid objects, identify objects of interest or potential weak points, identify weaponry and status of targets, and visually links him to every unit under his control. Is an effective penetration through visual impairment such as fog or smoke.
  • Hardlight Cape - An additional, custom projector on the rear shoulders generates an aesthetic hardlight projector, acting as an extra layer of defense for the rear, a deadly close combat weapon, and an overall impressive visual appeal.

Relationships[]

  • Marq: A Spartan-III supersoldier of the UNSC and the founder of the Adventure Group. Danno was highly loyal to him, and vowed to be his personal defender when his Bird powers were discovered. Upon his death, Danno swore to help uphold what was left of the Adventure Group, and to aid the UCR in any way possible.
  • Church: A Spartan-II supersoldier of the UNSC and member of the CMF. They are such close friends that they regard each other as brothers. It was through Church that Danno met his wife, Mari. After he was killed by a Void God, Danno vowed vengenace for his brother and began preparations to protect the Galaxy from a future attack.
  • Yoko: A highly trained human and significant member of the Adventure Group; she spent some time to train him, improving his close-quarters skills, his firearm accuracy, and driving skills. Their friendship strengthened tremendously during Danno's short relationship with Yuno.
  • Mari: Church's Soul Partner, and Danno's wife. Initially mere allies connected through their bonds with Church, Danno and Mari eventually grew close and started dating. Their relationship met complications when Danno began favoring Yuno, though they managed to settle for friendship. After Yuno's death, Mari helped comfort his grief, and the two reestablished their former connection. She is now the mother of his twin sons, and he has devoted himself to be the loyal guardians of all three of them.
  • Yoko (Evil verse): An ally of the Adventure Group that instagated several changes through Danno's life. Initially, he questioned her loyalty and true intentions, but put these worries aside when she demonstrated she was not hostile. However, it was her that led him to decide abandoning his past during the Deus Ex Machina game, and to kill his former Spartan siblings. Even though the events of the game proved to be a complete fake afterwards, it shook him to his core, and he could never bring himself to trust Evil Yoko ever again.
  • Yuno: An ally brought along into the Adventure Group through Yoko. Instantly upon meeting, Danno felt intimacy for her; despite her strange habits and crazy personality, she proved kind and close to his heart, and the two shared feelings of romance. It was powerful enough that Danno chose to leave Mari behind and go for Yuno instead. Their relationship was strong, with each partner proving loyal to the other and acting as powerful combatants when operating together. He was deeply sorrowed by her accidental death at the hands of Church; despite his pain, he brought himself to forgive his brother, and eventually returned to Mari.
  • Alien-King: A powerful sentient Xenomorph and member of the Adventure Group. Danno always found it interesting how the creature seemed as intelligent as a human, and despite his initial worries, he came to trust Alien-King as much as his other allies. Over the years, Alien-King has helped him maintain the extensive collection of equipment and materiel Danno has kept in storage.
  • Evo: A Spartan-III and former member of NOBLE Team as "Noble-Six", survivor of the Fall of Reach and member of the Adventure Group. The two were quite close friends due to hailing from the UNSC, with Danno suppressing lewd thoughts of the female until he discovered she was Church's sister, and these thoughts ceased entirely. With Danno's transformation into a Forerunner, this puts their friendship into a strain, with Danno avoiding contact with her out of fear she may turn him over to the UNSC, who are hunting him.
  • Stacker: A Sangheili who had left the Covenant Empire, and member of the Adventure Group. With the expected initial distrust for the Elite, Danno soon grew to put his disagreements aside and simply work with Stacker during their adventures. Over time, he came to highly respect Stacker, and the pair became good friends.
  • Grif: An unlucky member of the fake 'Red Team' in UNSC simulations and member of the Adventure Group. Due to awkward interactions, the pair don't usually see things the same way and often Danno finds himself in conflict with Grif's intentions, despite knowing he is experienced and means well. This is likely due to Grif's unlucky nature, and the fact he is essentially immortal. This hasn't improved even though the two are connected to Yoko, who helped to inspire all the Adventure Group members.
  • Natsumi Yamamoto : A young female, replacement of Yuno since her accidental death. While not close to each other beyond friendship, Danno has entrusted her with a variety of important things due to the nature of her position, taking over for his former lover. The most significant of these is assigning her to seek his Cryptum and awaken him from his meditation when the Galaxy needed him again, an assignment she completed after the 15-year timeskip. She helped him through the long process of reanimation, but since then, any activities the pair have done so far remains unknown.

Additional Notes[]

"Skills: A basic understanding in all the weaponry and standard vehicles of the UNSC. Additional training was spent in the use of fully automatic weapons; utilizing two smaller weapons at once, aka "Dual-Wielding", such as the M7 Sub-Machine Gun or the M6G Magnum; Medium-to-Long range weapons, like the BR55HB Battle Rifle; Support mounted weapons, like the LAU-65D/SGM-151 Missile Pod; and is potently skilled in the use of vehicles, aircraft in particular. He also has a little extra experience in using Covenant tech, more so than the average Spartan-II demonstrated.

Spartan-048 is also very skilled in coming up with daring plans in order to achieve victory. While he is mostly gifted in tactical planning, he has little experience in strategic warfare. Most uncomfortable in situations where Nuclear Weaponry is required; he once claimed to have friends that suffered from the radiation of a HAVOK Nuclear Warhead."

-UCR Dossier, Skills section, early Adventure Group Days

"A highly skilled Spartan with exceptional skills on and off the battlefield; He always paid attention, did what needed to be done, was an extraordinary soldier, and a rare thing, he Loved his Superiors; he always formed strong friendships with his teachers, officers, and instructors. He had a thing for doing the right thing, even when most wouldn't bother doing so. This has offset what people think in his training... being distanced from those he considered his family is something not many can comprehend. Additionally, his reaction to the Flood is not uncommon, but somewhat rare among Spartans; most are able to put aside their fear when their life is in danger. There is a rumor that one time, after a large battle in Saudi Arabia against the Flood, the Spartan was found curled up in a ball in a corner, surrounded by a wall of mangled, decomposed corpses and covered in alien blood, the floor carpeted by the spent shell casings of his weapons. Perhaps ONI needs to re-evaluate his psychological profile, and place him on fronts away from the parasite; but I fear when the time comes, and the Flood attack again, I think we'll need all the heavily-armored, super powered 7-Foot tall walking tanks we can get."

Trivia[]

  • Danno-048 is a member of the Prime Adventure Group.
  • Danno-048 is one of the last surviving members of the original group. Others include Evo, Stacker, and Alien-King.
  • Danno-048 is the only known living Forerunner in the Galaxy. The main race was destroyed during the Halo activation a hundred thousand years ago; his sons, Titus and Sorin, are not fully Forerunner, but are in fact hybrids.
  • Danno once used an unorthodox method to escape a nuclear blast: digging a hole and burrowing himself in it. While he managed to survive due to his MJOLNIR armor, he does not recommend others try it. Despite this, the feat was repeated and successfully pulled off by Ken Hayabusa of the JSDF during an operation years later while helping other forces outside his Armored Core.
