The Droid Legion is a fully autonomous army comprised of Battle Droids used by the armed forces of the United Soviet Space Republics and is regarded as the largest army of droids in galactic history.
The entire army is comprised of "Battle Droids" designed and produced by USSR and UEG factories and aligned corporations, this has resulted in an army comprised of droids of various shapes, sizes and roles.
History[]
In the year ____ Noah 'Chavam, inspired by the the tactics used by the Arachnids during the Siege of Doisac, started work on the concept of a easily mass produced army capable of being build and deployed both cheaply and quickly. Assigning the aide of various corporations already allied with the USSR they began drawing up designs for the galaxies first fully robotic army. As the ideas grew the UEG was allowed accesses to the information and with them came more dedicated factories and the necessary land needed in order to build an army of this size as well as the aide the A.I. A.L.I.E.N., a chief member among the UEGs research and development staff.
It would take over two years before the army was ready to be unveiled to the galaxy with the first generation of B series Battle Droids being deployed against enemy insurrectionists within UEG territory. Their mission was a overall success and paved the way for more funding for the project.

Droid Legion Infantry Units[]
B Series[]
The B Series of Battle Droids make up the main bulk of the Droid Legions infantry and ground forces and were the first series of Battle Droids to be designed and deployed in combat. The B Series was designed in house by the USSR and are built using easy to acquire materials and parts, making their manufacturing very cheap and quick.
B1 Battle Droid[]
The B1s were the first line of droids designed by the USSR and were optimised to be cheap and easy to mass produce; being built from flimsy materials and being operated by very simplistic AIs, this has unfortunately resulted in a droid that poses no real threat on its own against an organised enemy army however the strength of the B1s come from the vast amount that can be easily deployed and much like the insects they were designed after, are very powerful in numbers.
The standard B1 is equipped with a E-5 Blaster Rifle, a powerful, light albeit inaccurate weapon. The simplistic nature of the B1 has allowed it to a very versatile machine that can be easily re-purposed into other roles, this has lead to B1s being used as field commanders for other B1s, scouts, pilots and civil services.
B2 Super Battle Droid[]
Built as a direct upgrade to the B1s the B2 Super Battle Droids are a heavily armed series of infantry units manufactured after repeat deployment of the B1s proved the need for stronger infantry droids. The B2s are built from sturdier materials and are equipped with powerful weaponry, making the units more capable of taking and dealing heavy hits to enemy units.
B2s are equipped with inbuilt weapon systems, a standard being ED-2 double blaster cannons or V0 rocket launchers but much like the B1s they are adaptable enough to be equipped with various other weapons.
B3 Ultra Battle Droid[]
The B3 Ultra Battle Droid is to the B2 what the B2 was to the B1, a complete upgrade in both armour, intelligence and weaponry, resulting in one of the deadliest standard infantry battle droid created by the USSR.
The B3 loses the versatility of the previous B series models but makes up for this with a large arsenal of inbuilt weaponry and defences, leaving it to excel in ground combat. B3s are inbuilt with a GX tight spray flamethrower and a BW wide-spray plasma cannon in each of its arms and a additional smaller set of arms equipped with rapid fire blaster cannons similar to the ones used by the B2 Super Battle Droids.
The cost of materials and systems used in the manufacturing of a B3 far exceeds both the B1 and B2 Battle Droids combined, meaning they are sparely produced and used in standard command, instead being reserved for high priority battles.
BX Droid Commando[]
The BX Droid Commandos are the result of taking the initial B1 Battle Droid in a different direction. Whereas the B2 and B3 focused on upgrading the B1s armour and heavy weaponry, the BX instead focuses its funds on a sleeker and sturdier design with improved combat tactics and battlefield awareness that has resulted in an intelligent and reliable machine capable of acting on its own and proving to be a threat to even skilled soldiers in direct combat.
BX Droid Commandos, unlike their B1 ancestors, are deployed in small units of 3 - 5 droids and are normally tasked with high priority infiltration and elimination missions however they are also used as commanding units for both B1s and B2s depending on the situation.
BXs are outfitted with modified E-5 Blaster Rifles, made to be more accurate than the standard model, thermal detonators and both inbuilt personal shields and vibroswords for close quarters combat. Similar to the B1 they can be easily equipped with other weapon such as sniper rifles or electrostaffs.
D Series[]
The D "Destroyer" Series of Droids, also known as Droidekas, are line of heavy infantry droids designed and manufactured by Ultratech Industries exclusively for the USSR, blending the companies patented shield technology and weaponry to create one of the deadliest units in the droid infantry next to the B3. The cost of a single Droideka is roughly 200 times that of a B1 Battle Droid and so are deployed in moderate numbers.
A design flaw that shared among all models of the D-Series is that the units shield generator is incapable of functioning when the unit is in wheel mode, making this its most vulnerable state.
Droideka Mk.I[]
The Destroyer Droids are formidable machines compared to the standard B1 Battle Droids, having highly durable shields, powerful weapons, advanced internal systems and the capability of reaching high speeds thanks to its unique transformation ability and the Mk.I is a pioneer of these aspects.
The Mk.Is are equipped with built in twin blasters on each of the units arms and housed within its brozium shell lies a powerful personal shield generator, capable of generating a shield powerful enough to withstand a barrage of enemy fire and capable of deflecting or absorbing any manner of firepower up to a light artillery rounds. The mixture of these two elements alone would make the Mk.I deadly enough as a sentry, however the Mk.I adds speed to its arsenal as well.
By rolling into a ball, the Mk.I can roll at high speeds across all manner of terrain, creating a highly manoeuvrable droid capable of outspending enemy vehicles if needed. This however does create a flaw in the Mk.Is design, as the shield generator is incapable of working while the Mk.I is rolling.
Droideka Mk.II[]
The Mk.II Destroyer Droid would see production a couple years after the Mk.Is first deployment by the USSR. Unlike its predecessor who was designed solely for troop based combat, the Mk.II is capable combating both infantry and vehicles thanks to its upgraded weapons systems and armour.
In addition to the Mk.Is twin blaster cannons the Mk.II has been outfitted with an additional triple barrel blaster cannon and a ion cannon to deal with enemy transports or tanks, effectively turning the Mk.II into a shelf deploying turret.
Sniper Droideka[]
The D-Series Sharpshooter, also simply known as the Sniper Droideka or Sniper Droid is a specialised variant of the Destroyer Droids designed for urban sniper combat and are equipped with advanced targeting computer with a rate of accuracy far higher than that of a average human sniper.
the sniper droideka is equipped with a single heavy blaster rifle rather than paired dual blaster cannons seen on standard droideka models with a much slower rate of fire but providing higher penetrating power.
As well as lacking the blaster rifles of previous models the sniper droideka is not equipped with a deflector shield generator. Instead, the rounded plate that served as their rolling surface was able to fold down over their face with a small slot that they could aim and fire through
C-8 Saboteur Droid[]
Small droids designed in house by the USSR, the C-8 Sabteur Droid was designed for infiltration of enemy compounds.
C-8s are deployed in small groups of 4-6 separately from the main forces of the legion, allowing for the larger force to draw attention so the C-8s can slip by enemies lines much easier. Once infiltration of an enemy base is complete the droids primary function is to place equipped thermal charges in key points around the base while also disabling system along the way ensuring as much destruction possible before slipping away.
To aide in infiltration the droid is designed to be as compact as possible, with all weapon system being stored internally. The C-8s are also installed with advanced sensor masking and basic cloaking systems optimising the unit for strike-and-fade combat tactics.
DSD1 Dwarf Spider Droid[]
A droid designed and manufactured by Wernher and Noah Enterprises the DSD1 Dwarf Spider Droid was initially designed for use in cramped narrow spaces such as mine shafts to combat rebellions and riots on the various mining colonies scattered across USSR space however they have since found use on the front lines of the Droid Legion.
The droid is equipped with a long central blaster cannon mounted on its dome that is capable of firing either rapid anti-personnel rounds, or slower high-intensity blasts that can destroy light vehicles.
The droid's small frame and four all-terrain legs make it suitable for warfare in mines and rocky terrain and even allow it to walk straight up and down walls and narrow cliffsides.
Octuptarra Combat Tri-Droid[]
The Octuptarra Combat Tri-Droid are stilt-legged spider-like automatons created and distributed by Cybot Galactica, famous for their line of helper androids, for urban combat as their designs lend themselves well to peering and manoeuvring over obstacles.
The Tri-Droids are mounted with three laser turret cannons, one on each side, below each photoreceptor, this combined with the droids rotating multi-jointed assemblies allowed them to change facing almost instantly making the droid almost impossible to approach by infantry units as all sides were covered.
Droid Legion Heavy Artillery Units[]
Octuptarra Magna Tri-Droid[]
After two years of working with the USSR Cybot Galactica was commissioned to build a heavy artillery droid for the Legion and in a effort to reduce costs they opted to scale up one of their previous Tri-Droid Models resulting in the Magna Tri-Droid, a formidable machine capable of reducing infantry and tanks to rubble.
The Tri-Droid has been heavily upscaled from its predecessor, going from 3.6m tall when fully erect to 14.59m and boasting much stronger armour plating. In addition to these changes the tri laser cannons were replaced in favour of three chain-fed ordnance launchers with the reserves of ammunition being stored within the hollows of the units orb.
OG-9 Homing Spider Droid[]
The 0G-9 Homing Spider Droid, also known as simply as the Spider Walkers is a anti-vehicular droid walker provided by Industrial Automaton.
The spider walker is highly effective against both ground based and airborne targets and sports an array of heavy weaponry it is designed to transport across the battlefield, with its four all-terrain legs allowing it cover a wide area with ease.
The spider walker's chief weapon is a laser emplacement mounted atop the droid's round body, this circular dish fires a precision homing laser that can be maintained until the droids internal power supply has been drained and this sustained firepower allows the homing spider to weaken shields, destroy armoured vehicles and scythe down troop formations easily. For additional weapons a antipersonnel cannon below the walker's round body can be used for close-quarters combat, while a retractable ion cannon can be added to disable ships or other heavily armoured vehicles.
To power all this the Homing Spider Droid is installed with a volatile energy reactor, though this has lead to a major design flaw in that if the hull of the droid is breached by an enemy rocket the reactor will detonate other droids surrounding it.
LM-432 Crab Droid[]
A-DSD Advanced Dwarf Spider Droid[]
T4 Turret Droid[]
Droid Legion Transport Vehicles[]
Single Trooper Aerial Platform[]
The Single Trooper Aerial Platform (STAP) is an agile flying platform designed by and manufactured by the USSR for their B1 Battle Droids for use on the battlefield.
Designed to priorities speed, STAPs are designed to be as light as possible with the only form of weaponry on board being a twin blaster cannon. The machine itself is powered by multiple small high voltage power cells in order to power the STAPs repulsorlift technology which allows the vehicle to reach maximum speeds of 400 km/h.
A STAP is piloted a single B1 Battle Droid unit and are used for scouting and anti-personnel hunting operations, and are occasionally used in open battle to harass enemy forces. Because of its open design, STAP units are vulnerable to enemy heavy weapons, making them rely on their speed and agility to dodge fire.
Platoon Attack Craft[]
The PAC "Platoon Attack Craft" is a repulsorlift propelled platform created by the USSR to transport large platoons of Battle Droids across the occupied territory.
Measuring in length at twenty-six meters long the PAC is capable of transporting 112 B1 Battle Droids (a single company of two platoons) or alternatively 20 Droideka units. The transport is piloted by two Droid units and is powered by the same high voltage power cells as the STAP.
The PAC carrier boasts no weaponry or heavy armour and has to rely on AATs and other battle droids for protection and though the much bigger MTT offers greater protection, the troop carrier is faster and more agile being capable of reaching speeds of 50 km/h.
Multi-Troop Transport[]
The Multi Troop Transport (MTT) is a much larger and heavily armour version of the Platton Attack Craft, acting as a troop transport on the battlefield.
Much like the PAC the MTT can transport 112 B1 Battle Droid units with an additional 12 Super Battle Droid or 20 Droidekas stored on multiple hydraulically powered deployment rack that extend out from the face of the MTT, allowing the droids to be deployed directly into combat if needed.
The MTT prioritises defence over speed and is panelled was reinforced and studded with case-hardened metal alloy studs and is designed to smash through enemy walls to reach its destination and is armed with a quartet of 17kv anti-personnel blaster cannons twin-mounted in two ball turrets.
C-9979 Landing Craft[]
Designed and produced by the USSR, the C-9979 landing craft is a gigantic landing craft designed to carry troops and ground vehicles from orbiting warships down to planets. The ship have four wings with a wingspan of 370 meters with these wings being removable so that they can be stored away easily aboard USSR battleships. These wings are used to carry vehicles racked in garage channels for maximum loading capacity with each being able to caryy 11 MTTs that carried troops on the frontlines, 28 PAC for deploying troops reasonably behind the frontlines, and 114 AATs for vehicular support.
These massive ships are manned by primarily battle droids with a crew consisting of 88 B1s with a passenger capacity of 273 made up of command, pilot, repair and security battle droids. The ship itself is protected with a thick hull and strong shield systems and armed with an array of simple weaponry.
